9.10.05 • Merry Old England

Greetings from merry, old London! We've been here since Monday morning and I am, most definitely, not at all on my way to making the adjustmenent to London standard time. Right now it's 3 AM and I'm at the same internet cafe I always go to when we stay in the Lancaster Gate area.

The French fellow who owns this internet cafe just broke open a bag of his favorite French snacks called "Curly". Apparently you can't get them here, so he always brings extra bags back to the UK from his visits home. He is generously sharing them with me. mmm...they're sorta like cheetos except not at all cheesy…and actually pretty mild and peanuty. yum!

Since arriving, we've kept very busy a'singin' and a'playin' and a'talkin' ...mostly on BBC Radio here in town, though we hopped on a train for a short trip up to Manchester on Wednesday.

The weather has been so nice, and this evening, gorgeous. After a long day of busyness, the guys and I had dinner at a Greek place near the hotel. I went to Hyde Park and wrote on some postcards while the sun was setting.

I'm always eager to write to friends. It's in the sending part of correspondence that I very typically lack gumption to complete the process so's it actually ever gets read. I am proud to say that this time I have mailed each one I've written. Very good, Sara.

We have never done this much promotion in preparation for a record release and are really grateful that that everyone on all ends of this record has worked so hard on the set-up. But now that the record has been out for a few weeks, I know we'll all be glad when the time again comes to load up the bus and tour properly. Sunday, we part ways for a week, and re-join in Toronto.
