Hello! Summer is here. And I have the ants to prove it. Any little crumb or food bit left over night will call the ever roaming scouts and then the rest come in droves from miles around, by the little freeways that they form.

And if it's a watermelon seed? Forget it. I've come to understand and accept the reality of ants in my summer life. But we're certainly not friends. And occasionally you just have to break out the Windex and take back your house!

Tomorrow is our first day of rehearsing for the Mutual Admiration Tour! John Paul Jones and Pete Thomas and Glen Phillips are coming over to the LA house, and we'll get to know the songs here for a couple days and then spend two more days at a sound stage rehearsing with in-ear monitors. This whole thing is just crazy. I don't understand why we're getting to play with such legends. How is this happening?

I'm trying to clean up the place now. We've not been too good at maintaining a few things - it definitely looks like the crash pad it is. Today when I was grocery shopping for a few basic snacks I wondered if I should get some tea for our British guests. You know...besides Chamomile and Peppermint. I remember loving the Yorkshire Tea that Ethan Johns (another Brit) made while recording MAS so I got that, but feel kind of silly. ...getting tea for the English...

Basically I'm just super excited. Now it's time to return to the woman's work and put our new broom to good use! :)
I'll leave the bathrooms for Sean and Chris.
