The week spent at Chris' was fantastic. We made a good start on the songwriting and revisited some older lyrics and melodies.

The drive back down to LA was beautiful. Out here, the greenest months are February thru April. This is when the grass first peeks up and soon the buds on the citrus orchards will come out and make the day smell like laundry when it's still warm - fresh out of the dryer.

We just moved into a humble house (which the band is renting for a short while to save money while recording in town) and got the *basic furniture from IKEA, but the little place is still pretty bare. The first day was spent assembling a couch and chairs. After everything was put together we found ourselves with a surplus of screws totaling sixteen. But, as of yet, nothing's given way.

Among the many things still missing from the house is a light for the living room. So at night we write by the glow of the fireplace and a growing number of candles. It's really fun. Last night we laid on the floor with our notebooks, a glass of red wine for each, and a few little candles.
Chris said. "If anyone could see us now, like this, they'd die to be in a band.
